This International Forum consists of a Business Meeting Point where businesspeople, academics,and investigators from Asturias and the five continents have an opportunity to get to know one another,share experiences,admire the latest advances in this sector and initiate possible commercial and technical enterprises with a view to advance own interests both in every Asturian company and those of the international visitors.
Its purpose —it will take place next June in the Luis Adaro Trade Exhibition Centre of Asturias, in Gijón— answers a demand: to repeat the success of participation and aims achieved in the first venue in 2008,where 60 Asturian exhibitors and more than 120 companies from 22 countries of five continents had the opportunity to get to know each other and establish commercial contacts which have given important results, in spite of the global recession which has affected nearly all of us in these recent times.
The object which we propose in having this meeting between companies, government institutions, academics, foundations and organisms of investigation involved with the Metal Sector, is to continue promoting a network of international contacts between companies of the Asturian Metal Sector—probably one of the most active, established, and innovative sectors in the whole of Spain— and companies and institutions in the Metal Sector in more than 45 countries of the world.
So, during the three days of activities, nearly 300 companies and institutions connected with Sector Metal de Asturias (see the official list of companies) such as in iron and steel manufacture, metalworks, capital goods, industrial assemblies, engineering, auxiliaries for the petro-chemical industry, sustainable energy, railways, shipyards, etc. — to name only some of the subsectors present in this Forum — will share a common area with business people and civil servants from the following countries:
- Europe (France, Germany, United Kingdom, Portugal, Belgium, Holland, Russia, Ukraine, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Rumania, Hungary, Serbia, Croatia, and Montenegro)
