The magic of Asturias, its particular charm, is expressed in the richness of its landscape, its architectual patrimony, its culture, its traditions, its mythology and in the variety and quality of its agricultural products the raw material of its exquisit gastronomy.
During many years the Government of the Principality of Asturias has been committed to revaluing the Asturian agricultural resources, seeking for them European protection . Denominations of Protected Origen and Protected Geographical Indications, which help the consumer to identify them as products of diferentiated quality with particular features and obtained under systems of sustainable environmental production.
The Asturias Cider; the Cheeses of de Gamonéu, Cabrales, Afuega´l Pitu, los Beyos and Casín; The Asturias Bean (Faba) The Chosco of Tineo; The Asturias Veal, The Earth wine of Cangas. The Asturian Escanda bread and the products protected by the Regulating Council of the Ecological Agriculture, are all an excellent group of Asturian products with marks of quality. To these others will be added in the future, as the wealth of the Asturian agriculture is plenty and very varied.
In Asturias our ancient mythological and legends which recall fantastic characters such as - Xana, Trasgu, Diañu Burlón, Ayalga, Busgosu have been conserved to this day, along with a traditional and artisan form of agricultural production, which together with the magic of our chefs, produce the Mythological Flavours of Asturias.
