Fish preserves

The great Asturian coastal fringe, more than 350 Km, has always been A source of fish and shellfish, so much for our own consumption, the sale in fresh or frozen, as well as for the transformed industry.

The first companies of salting of anchovies, were followed by canning industries and in the last years, by companies that manufacture pre prepared dishes of fish or shellfish.

Among the products manufactured in Asturias standout the preserves or semi preserves of: anchovies, bonito, tuna, squids, sardines, mussels, octopus, sea urchin caviar (sea urchin), frozen fish or shellfish (spider crab, star crab, crab octopus, etc). The pre prepared dishes made from fishes, shellfish or algae also shin. All of them stews of marine origin with traditional recipes adapted to the new ingredients and gastronomic tendencies such as: the beans with clams, with octopus, with spider crab, with lobster or with algae; the fish stews , the cod, the padded onions, the stuffed onions, the stuffed baby squids , the fish stewpots the patés, etc.
